Hello!
We are Preston & Kari. We are so excited to share our story with you and hope that you can get a glimpse of the life that we would give your baby. We have so much love to give and can’t wait to add another child to our family!



Our Story
We had the good fortune to meet several years ago while we were backpacking through Europe. We were staying at the same hostel in Switzerland and Kari was doing laundry when Preston walked in. We immediately struck up a conversation and decided to have dinner together. After keeping in touch while Kari studied abroad in London for the next 6 months, we met up again on New Year’s Eve in San Francisco. We’ve been together ever since and have continued to build upon our love for each other. We can honestly say that after many years of marriage, we are still just as in love as we were that first summer in Europe. We always say we’ll have a great story to share with our grand kids someday!

Our Family
After many years of failed infertility treatments, we decided adoption was the right choice for us. Three years ago, we were blessed with our son, Aidan. With the help of Nanci and her team, we were blessed with Kai 18 months later. While we feel so fortunate, we both have a longing for a little girl to complete our family. Our mothers both play such an important role in our lives and we would love to experience the joy that a baby girl would bring to our family. Because we’ve experienced the process of adoption, we can understand some of what you’re going through. We admire your strength and courage and know that it is the love you have for your baby that carries you through this difficult time. We understand how powerful the love for a child can be and are still blown away by the love and joy that our sons have brought into our lives. Adoption turned out to be the best choice we’ve ever made and we look forward to the opportunity to complete our family with a little girl.

What Kari says about Preston
Preston is a very fun-loving, intelligent and lively person. He continues to make me laugh after all this time! He is a General Manager for a home builder and loves his job because he gets to help make peoples’ dreams come true. He loves to surf, sail, golf, and be outdoors. Preston is an amazing dad and really comes to life when he’s playing our kids. It still takes my breath away to see them together, playing in the backyard, reading a book, or wrestling on the living room floor. He is a wonderful husband and father and I love that he makes our family the number one priority in his life. He is an incredible friend and I can’t imagine a better partner to spend my life with. He grew up in a small beach town in southern California where he and his sisters spent much of their free time at the beach, playing soccer games, or taking sailing trips on the family sailboat. He went to Georgetown University for his undergraduate degree and later went back to school for his Masters in Business Administration at USC. We are now huge college football fans and go to games often. We are very close with his family, who live in San Diego. They often take the train up to spend time with us on the Central Coast.

What Preston Says about Kari
When I first saw Kari in Switzerland, I just knew I had to meet her! She is such a warm, loving person and I feel so fortunate that she agreed to spend the rest of her life with me! Kari was a kindergarten teacher for 9 years before Aidan was born, and her calm, patient manner is what made her students and their parents feel so at ease with her. She is incredible with children, which is why I love that after many years of struggling to start our family, I get to see her be a full-time mommy. She loves spending time with our boys, reading, playing and singing with them. Their eyes light up when she enters the room and to see them interact with each other is truly a gift. Kari loves to cook, garden and entertain. She does an amazing job of creating a home that is a warm, friendly place where friends and family love to come and spend days at a time. She is an avid reader and loves to do yoga, jog, hike and spend time at the beach. Kari grew up in Northern California and got her undergraduate and graduate degrees at CSU Sacramento. She is very close with her family. Her parents (Nana and Pop-pop) come to visit often and love spoiling their grand kids. Her favorite childhood memories include camping trips, playing “Hot Wheels” with her brother, baking with her mom and performing in dance recitals. Her brother lives near her parents and we are very close with our 13 year-old nephew, Cody.

Fun, Friends, and Family
During our free time, we like to hike, go to college football games, have backyard BBQ’s, spend time at the beach and we especially love to travel. We love to take summer trips to the East coast to spend time with Preston’s extended family at their beach house or take the family sailboat to Catalina for a week. We also spend lots of time with friends and neighbors. At any given time, there are kids from the neighborhood playing in our yard or in the cul-de-sac.

Our Boys
Aidan and Kai are truly a joy. Aidan is a very independent and intelligent little boy who just started pre-school and loves every minute of it. He can rattle off the names of dinosaurs and tell you whether they are carnivores or herbivores. He is also very sweet and loves sports and playing outside. He is very excited to have another baby in the house, especially a little “grill,” as he says it!
Kai is a very sweet-natured and joyous little boy who already has a great sense of humor. He is our little clown and loves to laugh and dance. He especially loves to snuggle in our laps and read books. He will surely keep our little princess entertained! We believe the gift of a little sister is one of the best gifts they will ever receive.

Our Home and Community
We live in a comfortable home in a small town on the central coast of California. We are so fortunate to live in one of the most beautiful areas of the state. Our town is a very family-friendly community just a few miles from the beach, mountains, farmland and several lakes. We are near a college town so there are many cultural activities, as well. We are active in our church and attend mass most Sundays. We often spend weekends visiting the local farmers markets or going to the beach. One of our favorite outings is to the local ice cream parlor. The schools in our neighborhood are excellent. Our home is in a very cozy neighborhood with many other children who play together regularly.
