Us – The Basics
We’ve known each other for as far back as we can remember; we actually met in the fourth grade! It just so happens that our mothers are best friends. Even then we knew we had a childhood crush on one another. We grew up as friends and no one was surprised when we fell in love and here we are happily married, and have been for more than half our lives. Together we feel we are capable of doing anything and prefer to conquer life’s challenges that way. We’ve supported each other through our educations, our careers, and the successes and crises that define life and living. Our relationship is strong and solid; based on love, friendship, respect, and trust. This will be the foundation of our parenting. We are so very excited at the prospect of having a child in our lives; a child that we can love, nurture and teach through example; a child that will teach us new lessons in life and love. We promise that your child will experience the same love and memories that we share from our childhood experiences and those that we share with one another each day.

Home Life
We have a wonderful home with a large yard and lots of room to play. It’s the perfect size for a family of three. It has three bedrooms, an office, two full baths, and a two-car garage. We bought it brand new about nine years ago and have been decorating and landscaping it ever since. It’s important to us that our house is a clean, comfortable and a welcoming place for family and friends. We really enjoy doing things to our home like decorating and planting flowers and trees in the yard and adding those personal touches. The raised garden beds that we built and planted produced so many vegetables that we were giving them to our friends and family. The backyard is our oasis and we love to share it with other people. We built a nice patio where we enjoy hosting friends and family over for BBQs. We have a large koi pond with a beautiful waterfall that flows into the pond. The waterfall really creates a nice atmosphere in the backyard – the only noise we hear is cascading water. It’s especially relaxing in the evenings when we’re settling down for the night.

Our Spare Time
If we’re not playing in the yard we’re doing the things that bring us the most joy and happiness in life. We love spending time with our family and friends. To us, there’s really nothing better than inviting the people we care about over for a nice quite dinner, some board games, and maybe a movie. We’re both athletic, physically active and prefer being outside any opportunity we can. We love skiing, whitewater rafting, kayaking, rock climbing, hiking and camping, basically anything that involves being with nature. Of course there are also those quiet times that we enjoy so much; times when we both just like to sit around the house or the yard and read a good book, Jason might play his guitar and Jodi might play in her garden or do something crafty to satisfy her artistic side.

Our parents are amazing people! They’ve always supported and encouraged us through our lives, helped us through our challenges and celebrated our successes. If it weren’t for our parents we truly wouldn’t be as peaceful and happy with our lives and where we are today. They’ve always reminded us, that even when things might not be working to our advantage, that everything will be ok because we have each other. We are blessed with their love and cherish the memories we have made. It gives us great joy to think of our continued future as their children, and their future as amazing grandparents!

Family
We have a great, big family…and we mean BIG. Our family tree has given us many grandparents, aunts, uncles, and more cousins and second cousins than we can count. We are fortunate to have so many wonderful role models in our life. Family gatherings during the holidays, birthdays, and other celebrations can be quite an event and are always a lot of fun. Our child will grow up around lots of family that will help provide the love and support every child needs. Our family has loved us, taught us to love unconditionally, encouraged us to follow our dreams, and urged us to be persistent in achieving our goals, which is exactly what we intend to do as parents. Our family knows just how much bringing a child into our lives means to us, and are thrilled at the thought of us completing our lives with a child.

On a day-to-day basis our friends are constantly there reminding us how wonderful life is. They inspire us to live life to the fullest, to try new things, and to experience the adventure in whatever it is that we are doing. Whether it’s a Halloween party, a weekend of skiing, or simply helping each other paint a room, our friends are always there for us when we need them. Being around our friends is just plain fun. The laughter, humor, and memories are truly priceless. Watching our friends raise their children has truly opened our eyes to the joys and challenges of parenting and we are excited to experience that journey ourselves.

Our Environment
We live in a wonderful community. It is a safe, clean, neighborhood in Rocklin, California. The location is perfect because it’s nestled right in-between the places we love to visit, the mountains and the coast. We have wonderful neighbors with lots of children on our block. The school district nearby is one of the best academically. Our community is very social, often gathering around to celebrate the 4th of July and other holidays by blocking off the cul-de-sac and having festivities in the street.

Travels
Traveling is another adventure that we really enjoy experiencing together. We’ve had the opportunity to explore the rich history of countries like Italy, England, France and Japan. We’ve rafted through the Grand Canyon and hiked through the wilderness of Yosemite. Seeing how different cultures live their lives is fascinating to us. We find pleasure in just walking around cities or going to theatres and local museums. Aquariums and zoos are another favorite destination. All these adventures fulfill our desire to experience the world. Our child will go everywhere we go because we believe life experience fosters imagination and is a healthy part of a child’s development.

Our Philosophy of Life
Our philosophy of life centers around happiness. We believe there is no reason to wander through life without actively seeking happiness. We believe happiness starts with our well being; and work hard to eat healthy and stay fit…both mentally and physically. We believe ourselves to be open-minded and enjoy that there are views and opinions different than ours.

We also believe that life is just a series of choices and that each of us makes the choices that are right for our own individual journeys. The choices that we make in life are never wrong as long as we remain true to ourselves in what we want for our lives. Choosing to live your life by your own choice is the greatest freedom you will ever have. For us our choice is to bring a child into our lives. We understand the difficult decision you’re making and promise you; that we’re entirely capable and ready to bring your child into our lives and to provide the love and opportunities to your child that were given to us as children.
