Step Parent Adoption in California

Adoptions across the U.S. usually focus on babies available for adoption .
However in California, a Step Mother or Step Father can adopt their Step Child.

• Step Parent must be married to Biological/Legal Parent.
• Step Parent must be at LEAST 10 years older than Adoptee.
• Once Adoptee reaches Legal Age (18 years old), they can consent to their own Adoption.

International Adoption

Children for adoption can be found outside the United States.

• Couples can  adopt a child from a foreign country and
  re-adopt the child in California.
• Allows parents to obtain child’s birth certificate and
  baby adoption information in English.
